I had fun w/ felt for the baby's nursery

I  have finally finished my sewing projects to welcome the new little Vitale that will enter this world tomorrow afternoon. I wasn’t really going for a theme, but I did have an inspiration piece: some elephant fabric I purchased last summer before I was even pregnant. Then I found some coordinating Dwell baby sheets at  Target. Other than that, I just looked at neat stuff other people made for further ideas and put my  new sewing book to use when I set out to make the quilt.I’m pretty sure I have driven Jonathan crazy with my endless string of late, late sewing nights, but  I just couldn’t help myself. There’s something that kicks in when I’m pregnant that makes me want to create things- mostly with fabric, felt and in this case, buttons. So here’s a little tour of our new little guy’s room.

I cut the elephant out of felt & sewed it onto this homemade pillow

this pillow was a hoot to make

these little friends are for a mobile I haven't hung yet

after I made the bumper pad my favorite part was finding this ribbon that matches it perfectly

I was so excited to find matching ribbon for the bumper I made

Jonathan has also been busy painting the dresser & topping it w/ his homemade leaf shelves

here's a swaddling blankie I make w/ the inspiration fabric

finally I added these turtle pals to the car seat
